Kim Smolen

Kim Smolen has twenty-five years of experience in the mental health field in various settings addressing the mental health and well-being of children, adolescents, and adults. She has expertise in working with individuals who suffer from depression, loss/grief, anxiety disorders, transitions between stages of life, aging, and serious medical conditions.  She utilizes cognitive and holistic approaches to guide her practice and believes in the connection of the mind and body. Kim utilizes evidence based breathing techniques as options in the treatment of stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Drawing from a diverse array of educational, career and life experience, Kim uses a blend of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and mind-body approaches to support individuals in a whole-person, strength-based way, combining insight with action. She is a graduate of Syracuse University, earning a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) with additional training in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
