Dr. Jim Hawkins, D. Min
Jim received his Masters of Social Worker from Columbia University. He trained at the Albert Ellis Institute, where he was trained by the founder of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy himself, Albert Ellis. He also received advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and studied directly with Salvador Minuchin, founder of Structural Family Therapy.
Jim has forty years experience as a human services professional. Jim utilizes his knowledge and skills to foster a therapeutic collaboration with his clients, assisting them in identifying the nature and impact of their emotional challenges and helping them explore possible avenues of healing, meaning and fulfillment. Jim establishes a safe and accepting attitude from the beginning of his therapeutic relationships with clients, presuming nothing and listening closely to each person's unique journey. He is skilled at helping clients develop meaningful, realistic goals that address the emotional challenges they face on a daily basis.
